Themed "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," the second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) is scheduled to take place in Beijing from Tuesday to Saturday.

"China is both a participant and beneficiary of global industrial and supply chains, as well as a firm defender and builder of these chains," Zhang Qingwei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said during a recent meeting.

In the first 10 months of this year, China's foreign trade crossed 36 trillion yuan (about $5 trillion), marking a steady year on year growth of 5.2 percent. ASEAN, European Union and the U.S. were the top three trading partners with the Chinese mainland, reaching the total trade value of $797.6 billion, $652.8 billion and $564.2 billion, respectively.

China has been deeply integrated into the world's industrial and supply chains, with increasingly prominent advantages in scale, supporting systems and some fields. China ranks first in the world in terms of output of more than 40 percent of the world's 500 major industrial products. In terms of scale, China's manufacturing sector has ranked first in the world for 14 consecutive years, according to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

"The fundamental trend of China's economic rebound and long-term positive outlook has not changed, and the attraction of the Chinese market for foreign investors has continued to strengthen," according to the Ministry of Commerce. China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT)'s survey of over 600 foreign-funded companies shows that over 70 percent of them are optimistic about China's developmental prospects over the next five years.
