As one of the first cities in China designated as a national hub for supply chain innovation and application, Xiamen's participation in the inauguralChina International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) is a strategic move to embrace the evolving global industrial landscape and the dynamic trends in supply and industrial chains. It's an opportunity to share in the benefits of a seamlessly interconnected global supply and industrial chain era.

At the outset of CISCE, Cui Yonghui, Secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, underscored the imperative for CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council and the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce to collaborate closely and leave no stone unturned in the planning and execution of CISCE. He emphasized the significance of leveraging the CISCE platform to effectively showcase Xiamen's prowess in supply chain development. The ultimate goalis to further empower and enhance this sector, expediting the transformation of Xiamen into a "model city for supply chain innovation and development in the Asia-Pacific region". Huang Yantian, Member of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor of Xiamen, issued a directive that all Xiamen districts and departments should intensify their commitment, fostering close coordination and cooperation. They should actively rally and organize representative enterprises from Xiamen's supply chain sector to participate in the exhibition, with a keen focus on ensuring seamless follow-up services. With unwavering attention from the city's leadership and concerted efforts from all corners of the city, CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council has made substantial progress in the facilitation of exhibitors and investment attraction for the inaugural China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).

In accordance with the "five major chains + one exhibition area" criteria, CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council meticulously screened and recommended participating companies. A comprehensive assessment was carried out citywide to identify supply chain companies, and 30 prominent enterprises were selected based on factors such as company size, innovative applications, market share, and industry influence. To encourage the participation of more high-quality industrial and supply chain companies in CISCE, the leadership of Xiamen Sub-council led a dedicated team to personally visit key target companies for promotional purposes. Huang Anjie, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council, conducted a visit to Xiamen Airlines Co., Ltd. During this visit, he provided an overview of the event, including the exhibition area layout, scope, and associated forum activities for the inaugural CISCE. He emphasized that as a national supply chain innovation and application demonstration enterprise, Xiamen Airlines would undoubtedly contribute significantly to the company's innovative development through its involvement in CISCE. Chen Rong, CEO of Xiamen Airlines Co., Ltd., expressed their keen interest in CISCE and their commitment to assess and organize relevant exhibition efforts actively. He noted, "We've been closely following CISCE for some time now and will proactively engage in the exhibition preparations. Through the CISCE platform, we aim to showcase the distinctive strengths of Xiamen's aviation enterprises."

According to officials from CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council, three Xiamen-based companies—C&D, ITG, and Xiangyu—have confirmed their participation in this year's CISCE. These three companies are widely recognized as the "Three Giants" in China's supply chain service industry and are at the forefront of the global commodity supply chain service market. C&D, headquartered in Xiamen, is dedicated to developing a core supply chain system known as LIFT (Logistics, Information, Finance, and Trading). ITG, also based in Xiamen, offers a comprehensive range of services, including procurement, distribution, price management, logistics, finance, market research, digital operations, and industrial upgrade. They have established three primary drivers for their supply chain approach: integrated services, industry connectivity, and ecosystem co-creation. Xiangyu, positioning itself as a "supply chain management and distribution service provider", operates between upstream bulk raw material suppliers and downstream manufacturing companies' value chains. They deliver comprehensive management services, including bulk commodity procurement supply, integrated logistics, and industrial park platforms. Each of these three companies possesses unique characteristics and core competencies. Gao Shaoyong, Chairman of ITG, expressed, "We are eagerly anticipating showcasing the 'Xiamen Model' of supply chain innovation practices and outcomes at CISCE. This model encompasses digital empowerment, collaborative industry chains, value chain enhancement, and ecosystem development."

To bolster ongoing investments and the attraction of exhibitors for CISCE, in mid-June, CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council, in partnership with the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and the Free Trade Commission, orchestrated the "Xiamen International Supply Chain Services and Consumer Promotion Month". This initiative centered around reinforcing collaboration within industrial and supply chains while propelling consumer growth. It encompassed forums, promotional events, matchmaking sessions, consumer festivals, and various activities designed to deepen companies' comprehension of supply chain services.

Furthermore, the CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council proactively pursued policy support. It maintained close communication with the Municipal Bureau of Commerce and advocated for the inclusion of CISCE in support programs. This inclusion would grant exhibition fee subsidies to participating companies, effectively harnessing the roles of policy guidance and fiscal funding. A representative from the CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council stated, "Taking into consideration the actual progress of supply chain innovation in Xiamen, we put forth recommendations to the organizing committee. These included altering the original 'logistics exhibition area' to the 'supply chain service exhibition area,' intensifying promotion and guidance for CISCE, and expanding the invitation of international and professional buyers. All of these suggestions garnered support and were adopted by the organizing committee."

Xiamen, being one of the pioneering national supply chain innovation and application demonstration cities in China, boasts a relatively advanced supply chain ecosystem. It has become a magnet for domestic and international logistics and related production service industries. Notably, "China-Europe freight trains" and "Silk Road ships" converge seamlessly in this city, fostering new modes of international trade such as global repairs, cross-border e-commerce, and offshore trade, all of which are flourishing in Xiamen.
