A reporter from the CCTV learned from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) that a business delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs organized by the CCPIT recently attended the APEC CEO Summit 2023. During the event, a person in charge of the relevant work put forward an initiative proposal titled “Strengthening Supply Chain Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region” intending to enhance cooperation in supply chains, which attracted extensive attention from the Asia-Pacific business community.

According to a person in charge of the relevant work, the CCPIT has organized representatives from the Chinese business community to actively participate in discussions of the APEC Business Advisory Council. So far, more than ten recommendations on policies have been proposed by Chinese businesses, covering interconnection in supply chains, cross-border data flows, etc., and these recommendations have been well received and seconded by other representatives from the Asia-Pacific business community.

Bob Moritz, Global Chairman of PwC, said that in the future, industrial and supply chains must take into account not only the size and volume of the workforce and complete infrastructure, but also factors such as being more environmentally friendly, more resilient, and more sustainable.

According to data from the CCPIT, in the next five years, the volume of China’s imports and exports of goods and services is expected to exceed $32 trillion dollars and $5 trillion dollars respectively, which will bring more market opportunities, investment opportunities, and growth opportunities to countries around the world. According to a person in charge of the relevant work, to ensure the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains, the inaugural China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), an international platform for exchanges and cooperation established by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), will be held in Beijing. It is the world’s first national-level exhibition focused on the supply chain.

Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, said that the CCPIT would host the China International Supply Chain Expo from November 28 to December 2, 2023. The Expo will be attended by not only large companies such as Fortune 500 companies but also small and medium-sized enterprises. For businesses from underdeveloped countries, the CCPIT will set up booths for them for free so that they can be involved in the cooperation in global industrial and supply chains and contribute to maintaining the stability of global industrial chains.
