The Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) was founded by His Majesty King Charles III, when he was Prince of Wales, in 2020 at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos. The SMI aims to build a coordinated global effort to accelerate the achievement of global climate, biodiversity and Sustainable Development Goal targets. CCPIT established the SMI China Council in August 2022.

Under the theme “Building Win-Win Partnerships for Sustainable Prosperity”, the Forum will bring together members of the SMI and the SMI China Council, representatives from international organisations, business leaders, and scholars. Participants will engage in in-depth discussions on key global issues, including climate change, low-carbon development, and the resilience and efficiency of industrial and supply chains. The Forum aims to further unite the strength of the business community in advancing the vision of the Sustainable Markets Initiative.
