Sustainable Markets Initiative China Forum

With the strong support and guidance of the leaders of China and the United Kingdom, the SMI China Council (hereinafter referred to as the China Council) was officially established in August 2022. Since its inception, the China Council has actively facilitated the Chinese business community’s engagement in the global sustainable development agenda, while maintaining close communication and frequent collaboration with the SMI. Together, we have built an important platform for advancing international cooperation in sustainability.

Under the theme “Jointly Building Sustainable Markets for High-Quality Development,” the Forum will bring together members of the SMI and the China Council, representatives from international organisations, ambassadors of relevant countries in China, business leaders, and scholars. Participants will engage in in-depth discussions on key global issues, including climate change, low-carbon development, and the resilience and efficiency of industrial and supply chains. The Forum aims to further unite the strength of the business community in advancing the vision of the Sustainable Markets Initiative.
