An economic and trade exchange between China and Utah was held on Tuesday in the state's Salt Lake City, with business representatives from both sides highlighting opportunities for deeper cooperation in emerging industries and global supply chains.

The event, co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and World Trade Center Utah, brought together representatives from Chinese and U.S. companies for discussions on transportation and logistics, brain-computer interfaces, intelligent equipment, healthcare, technology and education, and cross-border trade.

Addressing the event, Ren Hongbin, chairman of the CCPIT, said that Utah's abundant natural resources and strategic location make its industrial strengths highly complementary to China's. He noted that China is accelerating the development of emerging industries, including next-generation information technology, biomedicine and new energy, while advancing its "AI Plus" initiative and fostering a green, low-carbon economy. The two sides' key industrial chains are closely aligned, offering broad prospects for deeper cooperation, he said.

Ren added that the CCPIT stands ready to work with the U.S. business community to build high-quality platforms for exchanges and contribute to the healthy, stable and sustainable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.

U.S. business representatives described China as not only an important market for Utah but also a vital partner. They expressed hopes of strengthening ties with Chinese companies through platforms such as the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) to expand cooperation across industrial and supply chains.

The China International Exhibition Center Group Limited also presented the fifth CISCE during the event.
