On June 24, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), delivered remarks at the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL), held during the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions — widely known as the Summer Davos — in Tianjin.
Ren noted that in the context of rising unilateralism and protectionism, all sides should resolutely support multilateralism and free trade, enhance communication, deepen mutual trust, and work toward broad consensus on strengthening global cooperation in industrial and supply chains. These joint efforts aim to build industrial and supply chains that are secure, stable, smooth, efficient, open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial — contributing to greater stability in global economic growth and trade development.
He reaffirmed that China will stay committed to opening up, remains a reliable partner to all countries, and will continue to provide fertile ground for foreign businesses to invest and grow over the long term.
The meeting was chaired by WEF President and CEO Børge Brende and brought together over 70 political, business, and academic leaders from around the world.
