On June 10, the China-Spain Economic and Trade Forum was held in Madrid. Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the forum and delivered a speech.
Other attendees included Chang Hexi, economic and commercial counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Spain; Mary Cruz Díaz Álvarez, president of the Engineering Institute of Spain; Camero Corral, investment attraction manager for Castilla-La Mancha; and Víctor Piriz Maya, general secretary in economy, business and trade at the Government of Extremadura. Representatives from various trade and investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce, and enterprises from both China and Spain also participated.
Ren Hongbin noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union, as well as the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain. He added that high-level exchanges between the two countries remain frequent and economic and trade cooperation continues to progress steadily.
Ren emphasized that the CCPIT's visit to Spain aims to fully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. The visit seeks to deepen cooperation with Spanish counterpart institutions, promote the upgrading of bilateral economic and trade relations, enhance collaboration across industrial and supply chains, and broaden practical cooperation between business communities within multilateral frameworks. These efforts are intended to contribute to the development of a more stable and dynamic comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain.
