A saler showcases a king crab in Hunchun, northeast China's Jilin Province, Sept. 19, 2024. Hunchun City of northeast China's Jilin Province has a nickname "capital of king crabs" among netizens. Every day, trucks fully loaded with fresh seafood imports enter the city via a land checkpoint bordering Russia. The Russian king crab, also known as the Kamchatka crab, is the star product.
Through railway or aviation logistics networks, wholesalers in Hunchun can promise a same-day delivery of the crabs to buyers across the country at the soonest.
Russian king crabs have not only enriched Chinese people's diets but also promoted cooperation and development in the border areas between China and Russia. At the Northeast Asia Cross-Border E-commerce Industrial Park in Hunchun, a king crab shop covering an area of over 1,000 square meters opened earlier this year. Wang Hai, the shop's executive, stated that they have established deep cooperation with the Russian Crab Group to provide high quality king crabs. Since its opening, the shop has attracted many customers, with a peak daily reception of more than 10,000 visitors. (Xinhua/Xu Chang)
