China trade body chief to lead business delegation to US

China's top trade promotion body announced Friday that its chairman will lead a delegation of business leaders to the United States, marking the first such visit following the conclusion of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's (CPC) third plenary session.
Wang Linjie, spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said at a regular press conference that CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin will make the trip at the invitation of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC).
The visit comes on the heels of a U.S. business delegation's trip to China on July 22. Craig Allen, president of the USCBC, led executives from several prominent American multinational corporationsto Beijing, where they met with senior Chinese officials.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Vice Premier He Lifeng, both members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, met with the U.S. delegation in Beijing.
The group also met with representatives from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, and the CCPIT.
