A roadshow for the second China International Supply Chain Expo, organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Representative Office in Mexico, was held in Mexico on July 15. Attendees from China and Mexico emphasized the need for deeper cooperation in supply chains to strengthen economic ties.

In a video address, CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shaogang highlighted the expo as the world's first national-level exhibition focused on supply chains, providing an international platform for all stakeholders to enhance communication, deepen cooperation, and seek common development. He invited businesses and individuals to participate in the event, share opportunities, and join hands in success.

Chinese Ambassador to Mexico Zhang Run highlighted the growing economic ties between the two nations. He noted that both China and Mexico are major emerging economies with rapidly developing bilateral trade relations. In 2023, their trade volume surpassed $100 billion for the first time. Zhang emphasized China's unique position as the only country covering all industrial categories in the U.N. International Standard Industrial Classification, boasting a complete industrial supply chain. He also pointed out Mexico's crucial role in the North American value chain, and that both sides have favorable conditions for achieving complementary advantages.

Susannah Duke, general manager of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE), highlighted the increasing importance of Chinese companies to Mexico. She said Chinese companies consider Mexico an important industrial base to promote supply chain diversification. Duke pointed out that China is Mexico's largest trading partner in the Asia-Pacific region, and the complementarity between the two countries in investment and other fields will promote technological development and mutual prosperity.

COMCE and the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China signed a memorandum of cooperation with the expo's organizing institution.
