The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial and Supply Chain Conference 2023 opened in Beijing on Wednesday. The event aims to attract investments to spur the development of major industrial and supply chains in the region.
During the event, agreements were reached for 152 projects, totaling a planned investment exceeding 100 billion yuan ($14 billion).
In 2022, the pharmaceutical industry's total output value in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei surpassed 400 billion yuan, accounting for over 20% of the national total. This positions the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region among the top four pharmaceutical industry clusters in China.
The three jurisdictions have jointly initiated a mechanism to develop the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region into a world-class industrial cluster. This mechanism encompasses five advanced manufacturing clusters, including integrated circuits, network security, biomedicine, power equipment and emergency equipment.
Additionally, they plan to coordinate the development of six industrial chains related to hydrogen energy, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, network security, high-end industrial machines, biomedicine, and robotics.
A responsible official noted that Beijing boasts rich scientific and technological innovation resources, Tianjin has significant potential for advanced manufacturing, and Hebei provides the necessary resources for industrial development. He mentioned that the three areas could leverage each other's strengths to foster better and faster industry growth.
An official stated that the event serves as a platform for promoting industrial cooperation and development across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, and urged the three areas to strengthen innovation-driven development and deepen cooperation in industry, technology, and talent.
