Roberto Milani, executive vice-president of COMEXPORT, a Brazilian foreign trade company, said that the first China International Supply Chain Expo can bridge Brazilian enterprises with the world’s second-largest economy.

He said that in a recent exclusive interview with China News Service in Sao Paulo, Brazil, before departing for China to participate in the expo. The expo is scheduled to be held in Beijing from Nov 28 to Dec 2, as the first international supply chain expo China hosts. About 515 companies and institutions will participate in the CISCE, of which 26% are from overseas.

“We are looking forward to participating in the CISCE. This is a good opportunity to learn about China’s latest supply chain development trends.” Milani said. “The expo will help Brazilian companies find more Chinese partners who are interested in cooperating in the field of trade and investment between the two countries.”

Milani said that his company will focus on the new energy field during this exhibition. In his view, Brazil and China have very broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of new energy, chemicals, agricultural products, textiles, automobiles and machinery and equipment.

As the world shifts to more sustainable energy solutions, Brazil's rich natural resources and China's advanced technology are bound to create amazing synergies, he noted.

COMEXPORT has entered the Chinese market since the 1980s, and trade with China is the company's main business. In 1983, Milani was assigned to work in Shanghai where he witnessed the Chinese megacity transform from a traditional industrial center into an important global financial and technology center. Since then, he has taken foreign trade-related jobs, and visited China many times, witnessing the country's "tremendous changes" over the past 40 years.

As for his upcoming China trip, Milani said that face-to-face engagement with the Chinese people and representatives of Chinese companies is very helpful for Brazilian enterprises to find opportunities for cooperation with China today.
